Navigating Google Earth Presentations
The new web-based version of Google Earth allows viewers to have a robust, immersive experience. You will quickly see that each page allows you to pan, scroll and magnify the screen so you are not limited to the initial view I have selected. Feel free to play with it. It is View Only so you can’t break anything. :)
To have the best experience, follow the simple instructions below…
Google Earth defaults to a presentation that shows modern cities, roads and other features. Obviously, this is not relevant to the Journeys of the Apostles. For your best experience….
Enable “Clean Map Style”
Go to the Google Earth Journeys page. NOTE: It will open in a new Tab so Return here for Step 2.
You will land on the page for all Google Earth Journeys I have created thus far.
Select one of these to open Google Earth (Web version).
Click on the Map Style icon on the left side bar (2nd from bottom). 4 types of Map Styles will appear.
Select "Clean".
Just above “Clean”, click on the left arrow (Map Style).
Click on the “Projects” icon (3rd from bottom on the left side bar).
Once in….
Select “Present”.
Use the "Table of Contents" arrows (or your computer's right arrow key) to advance through the presentation.
Note: By clicking on the left side of the “Tables of Contents”, you can “jump” to any step in this Journey.
Note: Some of the pages are “greyed out” (indicates a non-primary location). You can open this page by clicking on it.
Note: On the right side of the screen you will see Bible verses that relate to this segment of the Apostle’s Journey. When I remember to add it, there is a link to the associated page in this website where (in some cases) I have added Additional Resources.
Just try it. It’s easy plus you can go as fast or slow as you want to go.
