About the Acts 2020 Project

Biblical Foundation

I am updating the 'Acts 2020 Project' website I created during the 2020 Covid lockdowns. The site explores the Book of Acts which serves as the divine bridge between Christ's earthly ministry and the establishment of His church.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth
."
Acts 1:8

Acts continues the narrative where Luke's Gospel concludes (Luke 24:44-53), showing how Jesus' followers fulfilled His promise that they would be His witnesses to all nations. This mission directly implements Christ's Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) through the power of the Holy Spirit.

📖 Key Scripture Connections

  • Luke 24:44-53 - Jesus' final instructions and ascension

  • Matthew 28:16-20 - The Great Commission

  • Acts 1:1-11 - The bridge between Gospel and Church

Focus and Scope

The project focuses on the Apostles' Spirit-led efforts to:

  • Create and organize the early church

  • Expand the Gospel message

  • Manage church growth and development after Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension.

🗺️ Geographic Journey of the Gospel

  • Jerusalem - The church's birthplace

  • Judea & Samaria - Initial expansion

  • Mediterranean Region - Further spread

  • "End of the Earth" - Ongoing mission

Key Features

While covering all chapters of Acts, we give special attention to Peter and Paul as they carried the Gospel throughout the Roman world, traversing the waters and lands of the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea.

Major Events Timeline

Project Enhancement (AI)

My desire is to make this updated version both engaging and educational by incorporating robust AI resources which were not available in 2020. In this website you will see many statements supported by scripture. Since I’m no theologian, this important practice would not be possible without Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 AI support.
